  • What if my dog doesn’t know how to catch frisbees?
    Most dogs who like to play fetch can learn to catch flying discs. It’s just a matter of the right introduction and following the right steps to begin
  • Do you provide instruction and training?
    Yes! Our Club had many experienced Toss & Fetch players, who are happy to help teach you to throw better and teach you how to teach your dog this wonderful sport.
  • What discs do you recommend?
    There are special discs made just for the dogs, with durability and safety in mind. Reputable manufacturers include Hero, Hyperflite, Kong, and Aerobie’s Dogobie. Sizes, strengths, materials and prices vary. Most good dog discs cost $10-$20 each, with frequent package deals found online.
  • What discs are allowed in Toss & Fetch competition?
    Any solid disc, of any brand or material is allowed. By solid disc, we mean no rings or donut hole style discs.
  • How much does it cost play Toss & Fetch with the Anthem Disc Dogs?
    The league charges $15 per person, per season. Our Club charges a one time $10 club initiation fee, which helps to pay for our equipment and operating costs.
  • What’s the time commitment involved in this sport?
    League seasons consist of once a week play days, usually lasting less than half a day, most often on Saturdays. Of course the more you practice, the better you and your dog become. The league sponsors seven 5 week seasons per year, plus a one day Worldwide Championship event, usually in September.
  • Are there age limits?
    Dogs and people of any age can play. For very young or older dogs, we will teach you to compete throwing “roller” throws, which are fun, easy and safe throws for dogs to chase and catch. You still earn points when your dog catches a roller. Kids 13 and under compete in the Juniors Division, with relaxed scoring rules.
  • What if I’m not very good at throwing a flying disc?
    One, we will teach you to get better. Two, our sport has 3 levels of skilled Divisions, with handicap points awarded to new players in order to level the playing field. Besides, it’s all for fun!
  • Where do you play?
    The Anthem Disc Dogs play in far North Phoenix, off of I-17. There are several other clubs in the Valley, in Tucson and in Payson. To find these clubs, click find a club on tossandfetch.com
  • Can we just come watch as spectators?
    In order for our Club to comply with group gathering restrictions, we limit spectators to those guest of the club who have pre-approval to attend. Send us a message to discuss coming to watch.
